Jacob Tremblay is all grown up in new red carpet pics

Jacob Tremblay has come a long way since his breakout moment at age 8 in the critically acclaimed movie “Room.”

On Saturday, October 22, the 16-year-old actor decided to share two side-by-side photos on Twitter to show how far he’s come over the past seven years.

The photo on the left showed Tremblay as a young child as he posed with a thumbs-up on the red carpet. Pictured right, the teenager posed in front of TCL’s 6 Chinese theaters in Hollywood for the premiere of Netflix’s “My Father’s Dragon” as part of the Animation Is Film festival on Saturday, October 22.

“How it started vs how it goes…” he wrote alongside the photo collage.

In the replies, fans shared their hilarious reactions to Tremblay’s tweet, including how old the realization made them feel.

“No. I refuse to believe time flies so fast… not on my watch,” one person wrote in the responses.

A fan too tweeted“Yeah, it’s a way to make us adults feel old. You’re supposed to stay 7 forever, so we feel young. Now we have to yell at people to get off our lawns.”

A fan wrote“i refuse to feel like i’m getting old”, with another adding a similar sentiment, writing“NO! I’m NOT getting old” next to a collage of a Jamie Lee Curtis meme.

Another one added“Okay in my brain, ROOM came out two years ago… when it was SEVEN?!? What the time?”

Tremblay made his acting debut in 2013 with a few bit parts in film and television, but his breakout performance would come in 2015 in the Oscar-nominated film “Room” alongside Brie Larson, whose performance won numerous accolades, including an Oscar as well as a BAFTA, Critic’s Choice, Golden Globe and SAG award for Best Actress.

The young actor began to melt hearts during awards season in 2016, delivering an adorable acceptance speech at the Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Young Actor. The then 9-year-old couldn’t even reach the mic as he shared his gratitude and had attendees – and those watching at home – bursting into laughter when he said he would put on his trophy next to his Millennium Falcon.

In the years following his breakout role, he starred in numerous movies and TV shows, including ‘The Book of Henry’, ‘Wonder’ and ‘Good Boys’, portrayed a young Justin Bieber in his music video for “Lonely”, as well as the voice of the main character of Disney’s 2021 animated film “Luca”.

Tremblay is also part of the star-studded cast of the upcoming live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.” He will be the voice behind Flounder, Ariel’s best friend, in the film opposite Halle Bailey as Ariel.
