World Champion Houston Astros Draft Samsung to Transform Minute Maid Park with State-of-the-Art Technology

Samsung’s world-class digital displays and solutions to create an immersive game experience for fans with cutting-edge updates, including a new main video scoreboard.

Samsung Electronics America and the Houston Astros announced today that they will digitally enhance Minute Maid Park with display technology designed to further enhance the fan experience. Samsung, a leader in digital signage innovation, will provide some of the largest and highest definition screens in the game, so fans can expect to be immersed in the action like never before. The multi-year deal will feature new outdoor LED technology both indoors and out in time for the 2023 season, including a new main scoreboard, with dynamic content to remind fans that when it comes to to enjoy America’s pastime, the stadium experience is unmatched.

“Technology continues to take the in-person fan experience of live entertainment and sporting events to incredible new heights,” said Harry Patz, Jr., senior vice president and general manager of the display division of Samsung Electronics America. “Partnering with the World Champion Houston Astros gives Samsung another opportunity to showcase how the company’s world-class display technology enhances the ways venues can create excitement among fans and drive business with a display of impressive content, dynamic entertainment, real-time information and more.”

Following their championship-winning season, the Houston Astros will return to the ballpark in 2023 with updated displays and solutions from Samsung, including the main outfield screen, ribbon boards, center field mezzanine and more. Installation at Minute Maid Park began in November 2022 with completion scheduled for Opening Day 2023 so fans can enjoy state-of-the-art technology built for interactivity and engagement.

In addition to Minute Maid Park, Samsung’s sports partnerships include Citi Field (Queens, New York), Chase Center (San Francisco, California), SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles, California) and M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore, Maryland).
